GSA awards telecom contracts
WASHINGTON, D.C. – The U.S. General Services Administration awarded 21 companies a spot on its Connections II telecommunications contract.
Connections II provides the federal government with a one-stop-shop for global-reaching telecommunications infrastructure products and services. This contract gives agencies access to everything needed to support the integration of telecommunications, networking, and network-centric applications at the LAN, building, campus, and enterprise level.

NASA hires logistics support
HUNTSVILLE, Ala.—NASA has awarded CH2M Hill Constructors, Inc. a contract to provide logistics support services at the agency's Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Ala. The firm-fixed price contract has a total mission services contract value of $34 million with a maximum potential indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity value of $50 million. Under the contract, CH2M Hill will be responsible for providing mail; shipping and receiving; equipment maintenance and repair; flight hardware; move, transportation and motor pool; disposal; warehousing and equipment management services. The contract also allows procurement of additional response to specific tasks within the performance work statement under an indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity schedule.

GSA offers contracting training
WASHINGTON, D.C.—The U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) hasstartedBusiness Breakthrough — a program to help businesses better understand the intricacies of the federal marketplace and GSA’s contracting vehicles and take advantage of opportunities for growth. These sessions will be rolled out in cities across the country in the coming months.
The Business Breakthrough sessions will offer companies a robust agenda full of up-to-date information on how to successfully navigate government contracting. Representatives from GSA and industry will provide information and guidance including real-world case studies from across industries. The workshop series will be presented over three days and will provide valuable information not only for companies new to federal contracting but also those seeking to advance their knowledge. |

DOE invests in solar panels
WASHINGTON, D.C.—TheU.S. Department of Energy (DOE) has announced the offer of a conditional commitment to provide a partial guarantee for a $1.4 billion loan to support Project Amp.
This project will support the installation of solar panels on industrial buildings across the country, with the electricity generated from those panels contributing directly to the electrical grid, as opposed to powering the buildings where they are installed. The project sponsor estimates Project Amp will create at least one thousand jobs over a four-year period.

DOE invests in wind generation projects
WASHINGTON, D.C.—TheU.S. Department of Energy (DOE) has announced the offer of loan guarantees to Granite Reliable Power, LLC of up to $135.76 million for a new wind generation project.
The 99 megawatt (MW) project will be located in the central portion of Coos County in northern New Hampshire, approximately 110 miles north of Concord. According to project sponsors, the project will create nearly 200 construction jobs.
